Privacy policy

Docket Ledger is a reading site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and has no accounts or forms. This page says what that leaves.

Who is responsible

Docket Ledger, an independent editorial publication, publishes this site. For anything about your data, write to [email protected].

What happens when you open a page

Your browser requests the page from the web server. Like any web server, it and the network in front of it process your IP address, the requested address, the time and the browser's user agent so the page can be delivered and abuse can be stopped. These server logs are not used to profile readers and are not combined with other data.

What the site does not do

  • It sets no cookies and uses no local storage.
  • It loads no analytics, advertising or social-media scripts.
  • It loads fonts and images from its own server, not from a third-party font or image service.
  • It has no comment form, newsletter, search box or account.

E-mail

If you write to [email protected], the message and your address are used to answer you and to correct the site where you point out an error. They are kept as long as that needs and are not passed on.

Links to other sites

Case pages link to court dockets, administrator sites and news sources. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which apply once you follow a link.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may ask what data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to its use. Send the request to [email protected]. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

This page is updated when the site changes what it does with data.
