International Manufacturing Concepts Inc. V. Justin Bieber Et Al
Melomega Music and Sound Gems, also known as International Manufacturing Concepts Inc., has filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court, California Central, against a group of defendants including Justin Bieber, Dan Smyers, Shay Mooney, Jessie Jo Dillon, Jordan Reynolds, Jason Boyd, Warner Music Nashville LLC, W Chappell Music Corp., BMG Rights Management US LLC, Warner Music Group Corp., Warner-Tamerlane Publishing Corp., Universal Music Corporation, Poo BZ Inc., Big Machine Music LLC, Big Ass Pile of Dimes Music, Shay Mooney Music, Biebertime Publishing LLC, Buckeye26, Jreyn Productions LLC, Beats and Banjos, and Does 1 through 50 inclusive. The lawsuit alleges that the defendants have committed copyright infringement by using the core portion of Melomega's song, "The First Time Baby Is A Holiday," in their song "10,000 Hours." Melomega seeks monetary compensation, attorneys' fees, and an injunction to prevent the defendants from further distributing and exploiting their infringing song. The defendants include well-known singers and recording artists who co-wrote and performed vocals on the infringing song, as well as the label that owns the copyright in the sound recording. The lawsuit seeks damages for copyright infringement and other related claims.
